Marangu Route
MARANGU ROUTE
An expert guide to the Marangu route popular and considerably easier than any of the other trips to the summit, relatively low scenic varitation and its largely up and back on the same trail it is has its advantages and draw backs
It is also the a non camping route and overnights are usually done over wooden huts for accomodation on the route the first of these two huts are manned by permanent staff and sales of soft drinks along the way have given this path a reputation as the cocacola route the climb is least strenous and the gravel pathways recently laid out through the forest reserve and the pare ranges can be seen on a clear night
The walkers cross a clear anc fresh expanse of moorland through a three hour strech and landscape changes beyond the last water point at the 4200m which continues across the barren strech of alpine desert to the kibo huts the final ascent is normally timed to arrive at the summit which is the Uhuru peak and a finally the moring descent to the marangu gate
